S&P’s Mike Wilkins explains the path to scaling up climate finance in Financial Investigator

To achieve global sustainable development and climate objectives, investment of some US $90 trillion is needed over the next 15 years. However, the rapidly growing green bond market is still a niche segment representing just 1.4% of a US $90 trillion global aggregate fixed income market.

In a commentary article for Financial Investigator, S&P Global Ratings’ Mike Wilkins, Head of Environmental & Climate Risk Research, explains how the green bond market – which is expected to reach US$100 billion of issuance this year – should be further supported by a widely used evaluation standard.
