High demand for rental homes is seeing investment flow into the British Private Rental Sector (PRS). According to a new S&P report, ‘Generation Rent’, the market has doubled in the past 25 years to close to 20% of the total housing stock, and this share is set to grow further.
The report shows that assets in the PRS are increasingly attractive to institutional investors, who are looking to engage with projects from the development stage and hold onto assets for the long term. With around £30 billion of potential financing for the PRS, S&P shows that project finance transactions will be key to help more investors enter the market.
After targeted outreach from Moorgate, the report was picked up across the specialist investment and property press, including Funds Europe, Real Estate Capital (behind a paywall), Residential Landlord, and Property Industry Eye.
