Moorgate’s clients have swept the boards at this year’s Trade & Forfaiting Review Excellence in Trade Finance Awards, with Deutsche Bank, BNY Mellon, Commerzbank, UniCredit, Natixis, BPL Global and Falcon all receiving accolades. Together, they achieved a haul of six gold, three silver and one bronze award.
Of particular note is BNY Mellon’s inaugural gold medal success in the ‘Most Innovative Trade Bank’ category, no doubt helped by its landmark trade processing partnership with Helaba and the 25 largest German sparkassen (or savings banks); a partnership set to boost the group’s trade in the Asia Pacific region. Meanwhile, Commerzbank wrestled back the hotly-contested “Best Trade Bank in Central and Eastern Europe” title; recognition of the bank’s resilience and commitment to the region despite the liquidity surpluses, low interest rates and reputational concerns that have made other banks more cautious.
BPL Global and Falcon remain untouched in their pole positions, once again collecting golds in the “Best Trade Credit Broker” (BPL Global) and “Best Specialist Trade Finance Institution” (Falcon) categories. BPL Global has come out on top six times in the last seven years, while Falcon has now retained its title for five years in a row. BNY Mellon also enjoyed such consistency, winning gold for “Best Bank Trade Services Provider” for the second year running.
