Natixis infra project cited in The Economist

Subsequent to a relationship-building meeting between The Economist and Natixis’ Anne-Christine Champion (global head of infrastructure and projects) and Benjamin Sirgue (global head of airport, infrastructure and export finance), the newspaper this week looks at the many challenges facing today’s infrastructure financing space.

With a particular focus on the need for greater institutional investor involvement, the article uses a Natixis infra deal to show how long-term investors can participate in structures traditionally dominated by bank lending. Prisons Lot A, a €300 million PPP for three prisons in France, was one of the first deals to close under Natixis’ innovative infra partnership with insurer Ageas – and confirms Natixis’ capacity to structure infrastructure debt products for institutional investors.
